Who am I?
I am a husband, artist, woodworker, and former fast-pitch softball pitcher. I studied many art forms in high school and college, and I learned woodworking (and pitching softball) from my father. Over the years, I have made many furniture pieces – tables, chairs, desks, entertainment centers, cabinets, etc.
I retired from my job as the VP of Human Resources for a small manufacturing business in 2020 I now spend my days happy in my woodworking shop. Since retiring, I have spent most of my time turning wood bowls, vases, candle holders, and other such items. These types of pieces are a joy to create and fulfill my artistic passion. I also make other items, generally around the various holidays, that I sell at local craft stores. You will see some of these for sale on my website from time to time.
My wife and I live in the far west suburbs of Chicago on property with many trees. The street we live on is named Shade Tree, which, along with our shade-covered property, inspired the name of my business, Shade Tree Woodworks.
